The 3rd NAUTILUS pilot on-site training camp was organized in Pozzalo, Sicily, in Italy. Local watersports schools and surf centers with their instructors participated in the training sessions, open space learning scenarios, and experiential workshops.
Theoretical sessions, discussions groups and scenarios-based training gave participants the opportunity to update their knowledge and skills on hospitality, management, and first aid.
The training offered also crosswatersports knowledge and focused on risk management and assessment, water rescue techniques. Proactive and reactive drills were implemented to give participants the opportunity to practice new skills and update their knowledge.
This training camp was the third scheduled pilot programme. It gave us the opportunity to assess the training content, and the structure of the training modules. The evaluation results, the partipant observation data and the feedback of all participants will be exploit for the successful development of the NAUTILUS TRAINING PROGRAMME AND CERTIFICATION of the water sports instructors that will become Water Sports Tourism Professionals.
